BFF of the day: Jessica Nelson Kemp

I posted links earlier about my friend's recent engagement and wedding. Both wonderful events in their own way. Here is a little visual guide on why it's being blogged about so much:

The creativity in this couple is evident from the get-go with the groom's design of the engagement ring. Vintage family diamonds set inside a simple hammered-gold band.

I was honored to be a part of the wedding as the East-Coast Maid of Honor. Her attire was abstractly inspired by a dove, and she dressed me as an abstraction of a "Canary".

Jody Daily was commissioned to dress the female attendants. The Maids of Honor wore long dresses inspired by joyful birds. The Bridesmaids wore a unique skirt/top combo also inspired by winged delights, and the flower/bubble girls wore American Apparel with custom sash.

The bride also commissioned Emily Weiss to create this water color commemorating the day.

Each female attendant was given a weather balloon and a fan. (Except the flower/bubble girls who received fans and bubble blowing devices.) Here is one of the brother's of the Groom escorting the West Coast Maid of Honor.

"Is it much that I feel I need
A solid soul and the blood I bleed
With a little girl, and by my spouse
I only want a proper house

I don't care for fancy things
Or to take part in a precious race
And children cry for the one who has
A real big heart and a father's grace

I don't mean to seem like I care about material things like a social status
I just want four walls and adobe slabs for my girls"

The Bride also used illustrations by the groom and their wedding logo (based on a vintage seal) to create custom accessories for each person in the bridal party, including herself. Materials used were wood, felt, and vintage chain.

The Men in the bridal party wore individual tailored summer shorts and formal short-sleeves. Each were given origami bouteneirs.

So much handy work went into the big day - from picnic inspired wedding invitations tied with gingham to customized cupcake tiers lined with various ribbon and patterned paper.

The bride wore a combination of vintage and her own designs.

Congratulations to Tyler and Jessica
