A fine romance

Although this dress, worn by Katherine Hepburn in the film The Philadelphia Story, was the costume for a pre-nuptial celebration I think it would actually make a great wedding dress...who am I kidding? I would wear this EVERY DAY!

I love when this happens
Today I was on the subway and a woman in a Pashmina and a man in a Doo-rag were matching. I love seeing strangers who match on the subway. Sometimes I think they notice, but not always. The man defiantly noticed and kept steeling glances at her. I almost asked to take their picture, but the woman, if she noticed, was defyantly ignooring the situation.

Few things in life...
There are few things in life that are as fun as learning and/or sharing a secret. Last weekend there were two big secrets that were shared and learned. A boy told me he wanted to see more of me, and I told him I liked that plan too.Seeing as I am in a sentimental mood - I thought I would put out the feelers for things that make you swoon...a poem, an image, a song, a smell...anything that makes you want to believe in love, true love, perhaps at first sight - or perhaps over 85 years. Let me know! (via email) Or share your sentimentality with a special someone who just might make those wishes come true. (Next thing you know I will be quoting Delilah ;-) thanks for listening...)

Pocket FULL of Miracles
Apparently there are lots of crazy tricks with fruit other than the one I cited HERE. My friend just sent me a wonderful little video where he both snapped a banana and an apple in half - right before my very eyes! I couldn't put his demonstration up here but above is a sketch, and below is another approach on apple splitting for you...

*It's the time of the season...
*For those of you who are familiar with the song by the Zombies - I'm not only using this lyric as a device to note the autumnal changes, but also begin to discuss the extensive amount of Fantasy flicks - filled with Zombies, Vampires, and the like, that have been surfacing...Without having any special interest in these films (other than the fact that I own "Ed Wood") or being on the look out for them - I'm aware of the following contemporary projects for the silver screen and also for TV programming: Zombie Land, Vampire Diaries, The Vampire's Apprentice, True Blood, Stan Helsing, Twilight... Have they just been more aggressively promoted with Halloween approaching? Perhaps...
How do these trends pop up? Some say it is leaked information from one studio to another. Therefore an attempt to out-do the other studios, or to ride the wave of the publicity they drum up. (Need I remind anyone of Paul Blart Mall Cop, and ...that other mall security film?)
I always feel a slight tinge of nostalgia when these trends come about - as it seems to me (in my own set of experiences) to hearken back to the streamline of base ball flicks that came out in my child hood... Angels in the out field, Angels in the In field, Field of Dreams, Fever Pitch, The Love of the Game, the unforgettable a League of their Own, Little Big League, A Little Inside, Major League I, II, III, Rookie of the Year, The Sand Lot I, II, III, need I go on?
Like I said - these films don't particularly interest me, rather the trend/phenomenon befuddles me. What trends would YOU like to see rise up in Hollywood? With Where the Wild Things Are coming out, I'm hoping illuminated children's books might be the new trend.
